Layla turned 4

My not so baby anymore turned the big 4 last week. I can't believe that we have had her in our lives for 4 years. I'm that  mom that always tells the story to their child about the day they were born. Every year on Layla's I somehow end up telling Layla her birth story like she so eagerly wants to know. At least she listens to me or so she has me fooled into thinking that she does.

We woke up on Layla's birthday by giving her a BIG, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG GIRL!" She was then greeted with a big number 4 balloon and her favorite occasional Saturday morning breakfast, doughnuts. We also got her a "pink milkshake" from Starbucks or what other people may know them as, Strawberries and Cream Frappuccino. I mean, who doesn't get a great sugary breakfast for their fourth birthday?!

She enjoyed her morning with cartoons and then started to act more like a 2 year old with her "it's my party, I can cry if I want to" attitude. I blame myself and the sugar. She had a total sugar crash!

To finish off the celebration, on her actual birthday, she opted for Chuck E. Cheese. Seeing her run around and playing all the games made me feel really old. I would glance over at Olive and just remember when Layla was that little and now she is no longer a toddler. It just blows my mind to see her so big because we see her everyday so we never really see a drastic change.

Her 4th birthday ended with a bang when she hit the bonus button and won 250 tickets! She looked like a baller ready to spend some serious dough on some toys.

The following day she had a little birthday party. It was of course Charlie and Lola themed. She swam, played, ate. and completely enjoyed herself. The best part was when she thanked me for the birthday party. Now I know every penny was worth it because she absolutely appreciated it.

Now I'm no party planner by any means but I did the best that I could when it came to her party. It ended being a pool party because Bakersfield weather is always unpredictable. Overall the kids had a great time, aside from the fact that the pinata broke after the second kid beat it, but we all had a fun time.
