Now, in his mind these are his little babies. He tends to them everyday and makes sure they are doing just fine. He's out in the backyard watering them, picking at them, and gazing at them. He gets so excited when he sees a little flower growing on one of the leaves and excitedly tells me right away. But regardless they are HIS plants. Well, until they are fully bloomed and ready to be picked then they are mine but just so I can make him salsa!!! Um...I didn't sign up for this. Plus, who even said that I wanted to make salsa with these vegetables? Maybe I want to make some fajitas with the bell peppers or homemade marinara sauce with the tomatoes. He obviously had all this planned before hand.
For months Alex studied this book he got probably, I think, about 3 years ago.

I looked through it and it has a lot of great ideas on how you don't have to spend so much money just to even start your garden. It gives you ideas on what to use around your house so you don't have to go out and spend a gazillion dollars to start out.
Here are a couple of pictures of Alex's garden. He has done such a great job so far and honestly, all joking aside, I can't wait until he picks the "fruits of his labor" so I can make him a mean batch of homemade salsa, extra spicy!

Oh, and just some daisy's that Layla and I planted. Just thought I would through this little lovely picture in as well :)
a garden is actually one of my dreams as well, someday in the future when I have a house. :)
ReplyDeleteIt will happen. It took Alex a while but now he has actually vegetables growing. He's super proud and excited!
DeleteThat is so neat! Lol at him blaming you for killing the cilantro! Does Matador give him any problems with his garden?
ReplyDeleteFor the mosr part Matador is good. He has broken a couple branches but they are still okay. Alex is planning ti put up a fence this weekend since he has actually vegetables growing now.
DeleteLooks awesome! !
ReplyDeleteScott goes into our backyard and envisions a nice yard for us some day.
